Medicare Supplement Plans in Annapolis
Medicare Supplement, also called Medigap, helps pay some of the costs Original Medicare does not, like deductibles and coinsurance.
What a Supplement plan does
Original Medicare covers a lot, but not everything. A Medigap plan is sold by private insurers and pays part of your remaining share of costs. Plans are labeled by letter, and benefits for each letter are standardized.
- Keep Original Medicare and use any provider who accepts it
- No networks or referrals
- Helps with Part A and Part B cost-sharing, depending on the plan letter
- Monthly premiums vary by plan, carrier and age. Rates vary and may change.
Tradeoffs to consider
Supplement plans generally have higher monthly premiums than many Advantage plans but lower costs when you use care. They do not include drug coverage, so you add Part D. We walk through the tradeoffs with you rather than ranking one option over another.

Frequently asked questions
Can I see any doctor with a Medicare Supplement plan?
Supplement plans work with Original Medicare, so you can see any provider in the U.S. who accepts Medicare, without a network or referrals.
When can I buy a Medigap plan?
Your Medigap Open Enrollment Period lasts six months from the month you are 65 or older and enrolled in Part B. During that time you generally cannot be denied coverage based on health. Rules outside that window can differ, so call us to review your situation.
Do Supplement plans cover prescription drugs?
No. Most people add a separate Part D drug plan.
